A cargo of sex toys worth £1million was stolen from a lorry parked overnight in a lay-by.

The consignment destined for Northamptonshire-based ‘adult toy’ company Rocks-Off Ltd was taken after the lorry trailer was broken into on the A43.

The lorry had travelled from Felixstowe to make a delivery to Rocks Off, a sex toy retailer in Cunliffe Drive, Kettering, on Wednesday September 18 when the incident happened.

The lorry was broken into and the theft happened between 1am and 6.30am, in the lay-by between the A14 and Broughton village.

In a statement, Northamptonshire Police said: ‘The incident happened on Wednesday, September 18, between 1am and 6.30am, in the lay-by between the A14 and Broughton village, and involved a lorry travelling from Felixstowe to Kettering in order to deliver its load to Rocks-Off Ltd
Rocks-Off, established in 2003, has production facilities in the UK and China, with its HQ and warehouses in Britain.

Northamptonshire Police officers said: ‘Witnesses or anyone with information, should contact Northamptonshire Police on 101.

‘Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
