Following Neymar’s recent return to full fitness, Paris Saint-Germain manager Thomas Tuchel has made quite a strange admission about the Brazilian’s personality
Since joining the French giants in 2017, Neymar’s time in Paris has been full of off-field controversies, ranging from fights with supporters to disagreements with the club’s board.
After playing regularly in September, the 27-year-old was hit with yet another injury, which kept him on the sidelines until just a few weeks ago.
Neymar’s failed return to FC Barcelona in the latest transfer window was believed to have caused a breakdown in his relationship with his manager and the PSG board, but despite that, the Brazilian has remained in Tuchel’s plans.
Speaking about his relationship with the superstar recently, the German tactician has conceded that sometimes the player’s attitude causes problems, especially when he feels like his back is against the wall.
“He has a huge heart but unfortunately he doesn’t always show that’s he a generous and reliable guy,” Tuchel said, according to Sport.
“Sometimes he’s provocative and it’s a real shame because it’s not necessary.
“Yes, yes, I have told him that. We laugh a lot together and I always try to say the truth.
“He accepts it, but it’s difficult (because he) is provocative when he feels things aren’t going well, not when he’s calm.”
Neymar has played just seven matches across all competitions for PSG so far this season, scoring four goals.
