With Manchester United superstar Paul Pogba having been out of action for two months, a shock report has now suggested a new reason why the Real Madrid-linked midfielder has not yet returned from injury.
The 26-year-old has featured just six times so far for the Red Devils this season, after picking up an ankle injury in September.
However, Pogba caused a stir on social media recently when a video of him playing basketball circulated, leading to speculation that he has fully recovered from his knock.
The Frenchman was not in United’s latest squad for their match against Sheffield United this past Sunday as he continues his rehabilitation in Miami, having previously been in Dubai to work on his return to fitness.
The Sun has now reported, though, that Pogba could very well be refusing to play for United in order to push for what many believe is his dream move to Spanish giants Real.
Asked recently about the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner’s fitness, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said: “He’s not ready to train. He had another test and scan, and it’s not healed yet,” according to EPSN.
The Norwegian has reportedly grown tired of the issue after he and the club expected Pogba to return to training this past week.
Los Blancos boss Zinedine Zidane has expressed his desire to see the midfielder make the switch to Madrid, while he has also been heavily linked with a move back to his former club Juventus.
Pogba was United’s leading contributor to goals in the 2018/19 season, scoring 16 times and assisting a further 11 strikes in 47 appearances across all competitions.
