Cracks in Zanu PF widen following recent politburo meeting. This comes in the wake of the discovery that a member of its politburo was involved in the printing and distribution of flyers promoting Zanu PF’s much-feared July 31 demonstrations.
ZANU PF is concerned about its internal security amid mistrust over members bent on causing divisions within its ranks and those working in cahoots with the opposition to destabilise the party Nhau can report.
Through its information and publicity department, the party announced that it is going to investigate and deal with a youth who is engaged with the enemy through the printing and distribution of flyers meant to destabilise the party.
“Of particular concern is one Tinashe Maduza a former youth in the party who is engaged in printing and distribution of fliers meant to cause division in the party,” they said during Wednesday’s Politburo debrief at party headquarters.
Party secretary for Health and the Elderly, Cleveria Chizema who is also a politburo member has been expelled from the party for being in possession of massive July 31 anti-corruption demonstration fliers at her home.
National television broadcaster Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) announced through a bulletin that she had since been expelled from the party for these heinous acts that put the party into disrepute.
Party acting spokesperson Patrick Chinamasa expressed concern over security issues within the party highlighting that there are a number of members who are burning the midnight candle in a bid to divide the President and his Vice Presidents and ultimately paint an impression that there is a division in the party>chaosafrica
