A Zimbabwean woman in South Africa has left a mother of four-year-old Relebogile in tears after disappearing with her daughter.

Mmamoya Thelejane didn’t even worry when fellow tenant, Thabisa took Relebogile to the shops only for her to disappear with her.

According to Daily Sun, she left with Relebogile last Friday, saying that she was going to collect her salary from her employer.

“We called her cellphone, but it goes straight to voicemail,” Mmamoya said.
“We fear she might cross the border with our daughter and we may never see her again.”
Mmamoya from Makause squatter camp in Germiston, Ekurhuleni, said they were close to the tenant and she sometimes went to the shops with her daughter.

“It didn’t worry me. I trusted her,” she said.

Mmamoya said they lived with the woman’s boyfriend for several years and she joined the man in January.

Relebogile’s dad, Molapo Khamo, said: “She was friendly and we never expected she’d one day do something like this.
“We fear she might cross the border with our daughter and we may never see her again.”

Mmamoya said Relebogile was wearing blue jeans with patches, a cream white T-shirt with the word “Awesome”, pink and white tracksuit top and her hair was braided.

Mmamoya said the suspect’s boyfriend was arrested but later released.

A case of kidnapping was opened at Primrose Police Station.
