A jilted woman caused drama at a wedding in Kenya when she stormed the church to stop a secret wedding between her estranged husband and another woman on Sunday.

The incident took place at Emmanuel Worship Church in Kakamega with reports that the woman separated from her husband a year ago.

According to The Standard, Susan Shikuku, a mother of three, said the wedding ceremony could not continue as the bridegroom, Pastor Dismas Ndula was still her husband as the two were yet to divorce.

“We have two sons and a daughter. I love my husband, but, he has decided to remarry yet we are not divorced. We just separated for a short period. I will not allow my husband to remarry because we have children and must be committed to raising our family,” she said.

The woman said the ‘illegal’ wedding was initially scheduled to take place in Mumias East before it was moved to Kakamega at the last minute to confuse her.

“They had two venues in order to confuse me but I had my informers in both the churches who kept relaying the information as it happened,” said Shikuku.

She said she could not allow Ndula to take on another woman, Jackata Navile, as his wife because they are still legally married.

Reports indicate Pastor Ndula and his new wife identified as Jackata Navile quickly exchanged vows amid the commotion before they were escorted out of the church by police.

Police officers intervened and whisked the couple away from the venue.

Bishop Wilfred Ngoya, who officiated the wedding said, “I was invited here to pray for the couple because the wedding was conducted at Shianda, they didn’t deserve all these.”
