A Rushinga man has been fined three beasts for accusing his former wife of keeping his kids’ umbilical cords in the wardrobe for seven years.
Collen Murefu was ordered by Chief Makuni to pay three beasts to his wife Esther Kahwiti who he accused of committing a shameful act.
The verdict has been given apart from another fine waiting to be paid according to traditions.
He was arguing that she divorced him after she discovered that her secret deal had been revealed.
Kahwiti disagreed with the allegation pinpointing him to be the culprit of the sinful act.
“I want to appear innocent to the whole nation that my name was tarnished for no apparent reason.
“I’m sure the whole public sphere will see who was wrong and I need a compensation for that,” said Kahwiti.
The case came to a stalemate and the chief ordered the two to resort to prophets to help find who was at fault.
Murefu, however, failed to appear without a valid reason.
Murefu was then given another summon to appear this week and he declined again.
“Murefu ignored both summons to the Court and breached the agreement he had with his former wife and must pay three beasts fine,” Chief Makuni said.
