NOT only is Linda Sokhela (30) not scared of graveyards – he uses a tombstone as his bed!

“It’s comfortable,” Linda told Daily Sun.

He said he’s been homeless for more than five years.

“After my parents died in a car accident in 2014, I stayed with a relative but she sold her house so I left,” he said.

“I stayed with distant relatives but they abused me. I decided to go and live on the streets and see how I survive.”

He said he slept under the bridges for some time until he and the friends found a good spot at the Langlaagte Cemetery.

“But my whole body was aching because we were sleeping on the ground.”

He saw a tombstone and decided to try it out. “I slept like a baby that night.
“I don’t know who’s buried there but when I go to sleep, I consult with them. I ask them to look after me and forgive me for sleeping on them.”

Linda said when he sleeps, he dreams of having lunch with a friend.

“I can’t see him clearly, but I think it’s the one I sleep with. I’m looking for a job so that I can change my life,” he said.

Sangoma Jabulani Mthimunye said that graves should be respected.

“When someone is buried, their soul still lives. If the person in that grave isn’t happy with what is happening, bad things might happen to Linda in future,” said Mthimunye.

Linda’s friend, Justice Mtshali (33) said: “We won’t join him and sleep on other tombstones because that could be dangerous for us.” Daliy Sun
