Actor Brighton Ngoma has said his farewell to Mzansi’s favourite Quinton Nyathi on e.tv Scandal after 12 years on the show!
Brighton is ready to move on to the next great project after the sad accident that resulted in Quinton’s death ushered in the Kubekas, the newest family to hit the streets.
After being a part of the production for 12 years and playing Quinton for 10, the actor told TshisaLIVE that he felt it was time to say goodbye to Quinton. Brighton brought to life the persona of a good-looking, attractive ladies man, who had grown in stature over time.
“After so many years as the character, it was just a matter of time before the journey came to an end. It is, in my opinion, a sign of progress.
I can only hope that the audience is moved in the same way as we were when we played the storyline. Death can sometimes signal the start of something bigger and better. Brighton stated, “His newfound love for Dintle is perhaps the worst heartbreak as a result of his death.”
With his time on the popular etv soapie coming to an end, the actor went on to declare that he can now move out of his comfort zone and aim to make his fans happy with what’s to come in his career.
Once you’ve left the safety of the nest, you can only grow. I hope that the roles I am currently portraying, as well as those to come in the future, will make everyone proud.
Brighton also had a parting message for his endearing character as he moves on to new endeavours in the entertainment industry. “Thank you for the adventure, the teachings, the life,” he said to Quinton.
