Latest On Tapiwa Makore: High Court Denies Alleged Killer Bail

Tapiwa Makore Senior, the man allegedly behind the horrific ritual murder of seven-year-old Tapiwa Makore, will continue to wallow in remand prison after he was denied bail by the High Court.

The 7-year-old from Murehwa was last year killed in a horrific premeditated murder for ritual purposes in a case that shocked the country. The shocking murder occured in Makore Village under Chief Mangwende, in Murehwa.

Following investigations into the matter, the police arrested the deceased’s uncle and namesake Tapiwa Makore senior, 58, for carrying out the murder together with his herdsman Tafadzwa Shamba, 41.

The police later arrested another Makore brother, Thanks Makore, 58, for his alleged involvement in the diabolical murder of his nephew. Thanks Makore is alleged to have been given the boy’s head and arms by his brother Tapiwa Makore senior and Shamba. The police also arrested a neighbour Maud Susan Hunidzarira, 42, for her involvement in the murder.

Both Thanks Makore and Hunidzarira have since been released on bail. This prompted Tapiwa Makore senior to file a bail application at the High Court, in a bid to gain his freedom.
