Pictures: Khanyi Mbau showered with gifts by boyfriend Kudzai Mushonga upon her return to Dubai

Khanyi Mbau is proving to be the queen she thinks she is. A few weeks after leaving her Zimbabwean boyfriend in Dubai without saying ‘goodbye’, Mbau is heading back to their love nest in the United Arab Emirates.

Fresh from recording an Amapiano hit ‘Shiyi’indoda eDubai’, a song that describes the hurried manner she left Kudzai Mushonga in Dubai, Mbau bought a one-way ticket heading to Dubai to be reunited with her boyfriend.

She made sure her fans would know the ticket was for her Dubai trip by posting a snap of it on Instagram.

While many of her followers are beginning to believe ”Shiyi’indoda eDubai’ was a planned gimmick meant to herald Mbau’s entrance into the music world, Mushonga has done little to dispel the suspicions. He has actually fueled it by affording Mbau a royal welcome upon her return to Dubai.

The Zimbabwean born businessman, who is also reported to be a fugitive wanted for fraud, drove a Maybach V Class to pick up Mbau from the airport.

“I got her in the back of that Maybach V Class, You’ve Never Seen,” Mushonga captioned one of the snaps captured from inside the car.

Excited about her celebrity boyfriend’s return, Mushonga showered Khanyi with gifts, including presents from Cartier. He is also heard saying “I had missed you, baby.”

A look at Khanyi’s boyfriend
Many have wondered how Mbau’s boyfriend manages to live a lavish lifestyle and spoil her with expensive gifts.

Kudzai Mushonga is a name associated with corporate fraud in Zimbabwe. The Zimbabwean together with two accomplices is believed to have crossed into neighbouring South Africa after defrauding a microfinance company of R2,5 million purporting to be an employee of a company called Dream Air.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police launched a manhunt for Mushonga after receiving a report from the microfinancier.

Mushonga denied the allegations and challenged tabloids to provide evidence of the allegations, and if they did, he should donate R50,000 to charity.

Problems in South Africa

In South Africa, Mushonga was accused of drug dealing and car hijacking. Mushonga was first arrested in 2019 for selling dangerous drugs but the case was struck off the roll for further investigation. In August 2021, he was accused of car hijacking after a Nigerian national James Aliyu reported a case to the police claiming to have lost R1,22 million. Aliyu reportedly bought a Jaguar and a Mercedes Benz vehicle from Mushonga but later realised the vehicles did not belong to Mushonga
