In a bizzare turn of events, new details have emerged linking retired Homicide Police Detective Inspector Joseph Nemaisa, hailed ‘hero’ at the shooting of three suspects at his Chadcombe home on 6 Dec 2021 to the US$2.7 million January ZB CIT heist.

Reports filtering in from the family of the slain 21 year old Soldier Tariro Gora reveal that Joseph Nemaisa was the mastermind behind the January ZB heist and also in at least 15 other armed robberies by the same gang.

It has been further revealed that Nemaisa’s residence was the ‘loot hideout’ and venue for sharing the spoils.

The wife and uncle of the deceased (Gora) claim he told them he and the other 5 members of the gang were going to Nemaisa to demand their share of the loot or even all of it.

The gang suspected Nemaisa was cheating on them and was planning to set the police on them so that he keeps the whole loot for himself.

It is believed Nemaisa knew the gang was coming for the show down and therefore left the house on purpose only to sneak in as unexpected.

Other reliable sources also say the survivors, ex cop Francis Takura and Virimayi Nyandoro, claim that they tipped Nemaisa of Gora and his co deceased’s intentions.

Nemaisa then moved the loot to another hideout in Chisipite.

On arrival Nemaisa then teamed up with Takura and Nyandoro and shot dead the other three that included Gora.

The aim was to share the January $2.7 million ZB heist loot among the three survivors (Nemaisa, Takura and Nyandoro) at US$900.000 each.

Takura and Nyandoro then pretended to have escaped, but only to be ‘sold out’ by Nemaisa.

This (claim insiders), was the reason why Nemaisa reported the escaped duo with details of their names and everything including their residential addresses to the police.

It is surprising that the police never wondered where Nemaisa got the details of the escaped robbers yet when reporting he claimed he did not know them.

Other security details claim the spent cartridges found at the shooting scene revealed that the bullets killing the deceased three did not come from the same gun, but from three different guns.

Many other small details show Nemaisa’s story is not waterproof and airtight.

There are many loose ends, inconsistent and contradictory issues that might nail Nemaisa to Life in prison.

This is a developing story… More to follow as the thriller unfolds.
