Maniac rapes kids, dumps bodies in dam
THREE children were allegedly raped and murdered and their bodies were dumped into a dam in Mutoko.
The heinous crime was carried out at All Souls Mission.
A suspect, identified as Kudakwashe Kapikinyu, is now on the run. He is accused of throwing his victims into a dam to make it appear as if they had drowned.
Kapikinyu is alleged to have been found with the children’s clothes, which he later handed to the parents.
The three girls, aged 13, 10 and nine were allegedly raped and killed on Sunday.
One of the victims’ uncle, name withheld, told H-Metro yesterday the post-mortem results revealed their child was abused before being killed.

The post-mortem was conducted at Sally Mugabe Hospital in the capital.
“The post-mortem results are out and it has been established that our child was raped and killed, contrary to earlier reports that she drowned,” said the uncle.
“I am not in a position to reveal the details of the other two children because their families’ privacy needs to be respected.
“We are talking to you because you have contacted us to get a clearer picture of what really happened.”
He said their deceased kid sneaked from home to go swimming at the dam, which is close to the hospital, with her late friends.
“What happened is the girl sneaked out to go swimming with her friends.
“She was actually warned about the dangers of going swimming a few days before this happened.
“So, when the parents realised the girls were missing for quite some time, they decided to go and look for them.
“They suspected that they could have gone swimming and approached this man who claims to own the dam, if he had seen them.
“He initially said he didn’t see them but upon being confronted, at his house, brother to one of the deceased identified his late sister’s clothes.
“The man said he said he took the girls’ clothes while they were swimming to demand money from their parents later.
“People in the community suspected that they could have drowned and decided to search in the dam.
“The lifeless bodies were found in the dam and a police report was lodged.”
The uncle said they have since lodged a new complaint against Kapikinyu after the post-mortem.
“The police officers were involved in the post-mortem and they obtained the results.
“However, we have lodged a complaint since this case is now different.
“We are devastated as a family to lose our daughter, who had a bright future.”
The uncle said burial is set for Glen Forest in Harare today.
H-Metro gathered the other two girls will be buried in Rusape and Nyanga.
Mashonaland East police spokesperson, Inspector Simon Chazovachii, yesterday confirmed three suspected cases of drowning at a dam near All Souls Mission in Mutoko.
However, the release of the post-mortem results have dramatically changed the circumstances.
