Passengers travelling in a Public Service Commission bus were left shocked when a naughty 10-year-old boy in Pumula suburb smashed the rear exit panel glass with a catapult before he ran away.
Passengers heard a loud bang at the back of the bus and told the driver that the rear window had been shattered. “An unidentified man showed him the boy who had smashed it. He then pursued him and caught him.
He took him to a police station and the boy has been arrested,” said a source close to the incident. A passenger, Thuba Zindindi said: “It is by God’s grace that I survived the attack because I was sitting at the back seat. The boy has to be punished so as to send a strong warning to other would-be offenders.”
The boy’s uncle said he was a school dropout and was causing a lot of headaches to the family. He said: “We have tried to sit him down as elders to counsel him but he does not reform. He does not want to go to school.”
