Zimbabwean runner Isaac Mpofu is probably cursing his ancestors following his disqualification after winning the Durban International Marathon.
Mpofu emerged the winner of the 42.2km men’s race, completing the race in 2:10:04 but was appalled to hear that he had been disqualified for violating temporary license rule.
It is reported that the Zimbabwean had one temporary license plate missing on his back. For this, Mpofu missed out on walking away with a R50 000 prize.
Netizens shared their thoughts on the disqualification of Mpofu with some sympathizing with the runner.

pre race they should see the runners and also during race the marshals ought to have said and then bhudas where is the other numberThe general rule about the number is if it fall you must pick it but they were unfair to let him begin without it if he did and they marshals should have picked him up during the race being Zimbabwean is a curse.
Where was the number…how did he start the race without tht number…if it fell along the way ,i don’t see the reason why they take back the prize
If he was from another country he was going to take the prize home sweet and safe … I’m jus saying 🎭💦
This is terribly wrong. When the same happens with caster semenya they cried fowl. I don’t see a difference. Also Djokovic comes to mind @ndues_boy
