In a sad development, a 17-year-old Form 3 Seke 1 High School student in Chitungwiza reportedly died after being stabbed by another pupil following an alleged bullying incident.

It is alleged that the murderer, a 16-year-old (name withheld) is a Form 3 pupil at Zengeza 3 High School.

The incident happened on July 12 when the victim Ngoni Tadiwa Kundishora confronted his killer while armed with stones.

ZimLive reports that Kundishora allegedly grabbed his killer who then drew a knife from his pocket and stabbed him on the left side of his stomach.

He was rushed to hospital where he was treated and discharged.

His condition later deteriorated and he was returned to hospital but died on July 14.

The alleged killer was remanded in the custody of his father when he appeared before Harare magistrate Yeukai Dzuda.

He is pleading self-defence and the matter was rolled over to August 1 for trial.

Parents of the schoolgirls have since petitioned the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education to take action following the reports.

A local publication reports that the man in the eye of the storm is school chaplain Clinton Nyakamha.

Contacted for comment on the issue and other allegations against the school, the headmaster, Kudzai Mutseyekwa said he was driving and could not comment.

Mutseyekwa then released a stamped letter stating they were investigating the issue.

Part of the letter read:

“As the Head of St Anne’s Goto High School, I regret the negative report that broke the school’s various WhatsApp platforms over the weekend relating to allegations of abuse of female students by the School Chaplin.

“I am pleased to inform you that senior teachers, led by the Deputy Head, are conducting some investigations so that we can establish what exactly transpired
