A few days ago, a story went viral about some Zimbabweans who were detained after it was discovered that they were in possession of a police vehicle. Two men were detained on the N12 in Delmas while transporting 500 liters of diesel in a bakkie that had been converted into a diesel tanker specifically for that purpose.
The diesel was being transported in the bakkie. The vehicle in question belonged to the South African Police Service in the Thohoyandou region, according to further investigation. A large number of people were taken aback when they heard this.
They were left with a lot of unanswered questions, the most pressing of which was how a police van could end up in the hands of strangers
