Fast rising South African Djs TxC who made headlines yesterday after it emerged that they were allegedly arrested in Zimbabwe following a breach of contract have come out to set the record.

Amapiano duo Tarryn Reid and Clairise Hefke, collectively known as TxC who were in Zimbabwe over the weekend for the Yoyo Festival have refuted claims that they were arrested.

Taking to Instagram, TxC issued a statement detailing what transpired.

TxC revealed that last year in September, they were contacted by Zimbabwean promoter/Dj Rimo Jackson to come and make an appearance at a private exclusive event.

The Amapiano duo said Dj Rimo Jackson failed to honor his side of the contract even though they sent him a contract.

TxC claims that they felt unsafe and uncomfortable upon arrival as they stated that Dj Rimo misrepresented the event and did not provide them with any security.

In September 2021. TxC was contacted by a Zimbabwean based promoter. Mr Rimo Jackson, requesting an appearance by TxC in Zimbabwe for on exclusive and private event with “Very Important Personalities”. Sadly, what later transpired led to on unfortunate state of events which made us feel unsafe and insecure due to a failure to deliver as contracted with the said promoter.
TxC revealed that they came to Zimbabwe for the Yoyo Festival, however before they could appear at the festival, Dj Rimo went to their hotel to demand a repayment of more than R500k from them.

TxC was fortunate to once again be requested to appear at the Yoyo World Fest in Harare on the 12,, of August 2022, to which the invitation we honoured however prior to appearing at the Yoyo World Fest the promoter in question came to our hotel accompanied by a mod to demand re-payment of what he termed “wasted costs” at the October 2021 event. amounting to more than R500 000: notwithstanding that the promoter had committed to paying an amount of only R40 000 a day for the event.

The amapiano djs revealed that they were not arrested but held against their will by Dj Rimo and his associates.

We confirm that at no point were we arrested os reported by some tabloids and social media outlets but held against our will by the promoter and his associates. We voluntarily went to the police station to give statement. where after we went bock to our hotel as we had on early flight bock to South Africa.

They argued that they were held at ransom as Dj Rimo demanded they pay him back a minimum of R200k .TxC said their car was barricaded and they threatened to confiscate their passports if they don’t pay up.

The hotel staff, our road manager and ourselves were practically held at ransom while the promoter demanded a minimum of R200 00 to release us and remove the car barricades they had placed outside the hotel, falling which they threatened to have our passports confiscated and held against our will.
