This Is The Reason Why DJ Tira Met Zimbabwean President..read more

Celebrated South African DJ Tira was in Zimbabwe a few days ago and met with Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa at the State House, sources reveal.

In his Facebook post about his infamous visit, DJ Tira, whose real name is Mthokozisi Khathi promised his fans something big coming on the way after his visit.

He insinuated that meeting with the Zimbabwean president was to bring some good news for him and his fans as he had finally joined the Presidents league.

“Presidents league. Mr Marufu doesn’t play ku mvela. Something big is on the way #TakaendaTakaenda,” hinted DJ Tira on his visit.

Despite his visit not being reported in national papers, iHarare has been reliably informed about the reasons behind DJ Tira’s visit to meet the Zimbabwean President.

In the photograph taken a few days ago, DJ Tira can be seen posing for a photo with President Emmerson Mnangagwa and an unidentified man. The unidentified man is believed to be a member of the infamous Men For ED group that prides itself as an ardent supporter of the government led by Emmerson Mnangagwa.

It is believed that DJ Tira was in the country as part of the BelievED/Men4ED campaign that is looking to promote its campaigns in the country.

After the Facebook post, Tira received a series of backlash over his meeting with the Zimbabwean President. Fans assumed his visit was an endorsement of Mnangagwa – something they seemingly shun if their comments are anything to go by.

Comparisons have already been drawn between him and other African A-listers like Burna Boy who refused to endorse the Zimbabwean ruling party by not wearing the President’s signature scarf during his visit to the country late this year.

Earlier this year, DJ Tira lost his South African passport while performing in Gwanda, Zimbabwe. The incident drew more eyes on his spontaneous Zimbabwe visits from which he earned the moniker Mr Dirarizare Marufu.

DJ Tira is currently planning his birthday tours across South Africa and the neighbouring countries.

Zimbabwe has not been included in his tours, however, sources claim he shelved Zimbabwe for the upcoming projects he visited Zimbabwe for.
