A Norton Grade 7 girl died while giving birth at a shrine in Bikita, Masvingo causing havoc amongst residents as they bay for the girl’s mother’s blood.
Nokutenda Hwaramba (15) died in Bikita. Her father had taken her there for the delivery.
The father had sought help from a suspected mapositori shrine.
Mother of Nokutenda is being accused by her neighbors of neglecting her child.
“I blame Mai Noku for letting baba Noku take her to Masvingo, you are the one who carried her for nine months,” said one of the neighbors in a video recorded by H Metro.
“You should have asked us your neighbors for help, we could have contributed towards her health care,” she says.
The neighbors have also vowed they will not let church members anywhere near the funeral.
“We are going to beat them if they come here”, the women threaten.
