Popular Zimdancehall chanter Winky D last night paid tribute to six Tynwald High School students who perished in an accident on Friday.
Winky D was performing at this year’s edition of Castle Lager Braai Festival when he took time to remember the six with the song “Panorwadza Moyo.”

The accident occurred when the driver of the bus failed to negotiate a sharp curve and crashed at Pine Tree Inn, close to Juliasdale in Nyanga.
The driver lost control of the bus, which veered off the road and landed in a gorge, killing and injuring the passengers.
According to the police, the driver was speeding at the time of the accident.

A police memo also revealed that the driver is yet to produce his driver’s licence. The driver has been identified only as Machimbidzofa.
Thirty-nine others are reported to have been seriously injured in the accident. Sources at Nyanga General Hospital told a weekly publication, the Manica Post, that the other injured accident victims are in critical condition.
Forty-six pupils and teachers from Tynwald School, who were on a school trip, were on board the bus when the accident occurred.
Meanwhile the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has released the names of the six children.
Five children died on the spot, while the sixth died at Nyanga General Hospital.
The deceased students have been identified as:
1. Anesuishe Hove, female, (14) House Number 49 Lorraine Drive, Bluffhill, Harare.
2. Beyonce Guyo, female, (15) Block 42 Manna Flats, Madokero, Harare
3. Anita Manyuka, female, (16) House Number 4358, Matidoda Park, Tynwald, Harare
4. Destiny Dziva, female, (14) House Number 56 Sussex Road, Avondale, Harare
5. Kimberly Tarisai Mutusva, female (15) House Number 217 Chitepo Heights, Harare
6. Craig Madanhire, male

The resemblance is uncanny.
South Africans on Twitter are amused by how comedian and TheDaily Show host Trevor Noah has facial similarities with Canadian musician The Weeknd.

The singer and the comedian both have light skin and like to keep their Afros long and natural.

The resemblance came to a head last year when Trevor Noah dressed as The Weeknd for Halloween. When he went out looking like that, one woman screamed “The Weeknd” and ran up to him, assuming its the Blinding Lights hitmaker.
He told Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show:
“This is one of the strangest experiences I’ve ever had ’cause I know The Weeknd and I look similar from certain angles. I’m walking downtown in New York. It’s Halloween. Everyone is dressed up as other things. Someone screams, ‘The Weeknd!’ So I go, ‘Yeah, that’s the outfit. I get it.’ Then she’s like, ‘Can I get a selfie, The Weeknd?’ And I was like, ‘Wait, you think I am The Weeknd?’”

Trevor then told her that it was just a costume and he was not The Weeknd. The woman was not having it.
“She’s like, ‘You’re lying. I recognize you.’ I was like, ‘Wait, why would The Weeknd be The Weeknd for Halloween?’ And then she got angry. She’s like, ‘I thought you were nice.’ Then I’m like, ‘Well, guess The Weeknd’s not nice. I don’t know what’s happening right now.’ So now, I’m gonna go as him every year.”

Mariam Nabatanzi is probably the most prolific mother in the world, and they call her “Mama Uganda” in her country.
She is only 42 years old but has given birth to 44 children since she was 13, which could easily translate to one child for every year of her existence.
Mariam has six sets of twins, four sets of triplets and five sets of quadruplets.

Reuters reported that after her first sets of twins, she went to a doctor who told her she had unusually large ovaries that churn many eggs. He advised her that birth control, like pills, might cause health problems.
Her only solution was to keep having babies. And having babies she did!
Six of her children died. The 42-year-old woman looks after her big family alone as her husband ran away in 2016 with all their money.
Mariam Nabatanzi has never known happiness in her entire life.
Her mother abandoned her and her five siblings three days after she was born. Her father remarried, and when Mariam was seven, the stepmother poisoned the food with crushed glass, killing all her five siblings.

She was lucky to escape death by a whisker as she was visiting a relative. She grew up wishing to have six children to rebuild her shattered family.
Alone in the world, save for her father and his evil wife, relatives took Mariama in to stay with them. At 12, she was sold into marriage. She gave birth to her first set of twins at 13.
That was the starting point of her little clan.
After a staggering 44 children, Mariama had her uterus severed from the inside in 2016. Now her headache is taking care of her vast brood alone.
“Mum is overwhelmed; the work is crushing her, we help where we can, like in cooking and washing, but she still carries the whole burden for the family. I feel for her,” said her eldest child Ivan Kibuka, 23, who had to drop out of secondary school as there was no money.

Mariam scraps through everything, from hairdressing, collecting and selling scrap metal, and event decorating to brewing local gin and selling herbal medicine. The money is gobbled by food, medical care, clothing and school fees.
She uses 25 kg of maize meal a day. Meat and fish are a luxury her family cannot afford frequently.
Difficult as her burden is, she is determined to put all her children in school so they can make something out for themselves. She told Al Jazeera:
“My dream is that my children go to school. They can lack anything (else), but they must go to school. I can’t say they are nagging because they are my children. I can’t say I will abandon them because they are my children, and I love them.”
