A notorious 30-year-old Masvingo robber has been nabbed for allegedly killing popular tuck shop owner, Michael Munhungowarwa.
Tafadzwa Kanengoni, 39, widely known as Soda Water, from Tembwe Street is accused of killing the popular Mucheke tuckshop owner who was 41 years old.
He allegedly committed the gruesome murder on January 7 and was only arrested on Wednesday afternoon.
Masvingo provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Kudakwashe Dehwa, confirmed the arrest.
“On January 7 at around 9pm, Kanengoni went to the deceased’s tuckshop wearing a black face mask.
“Kanengoni is said to have found Munhungowarwa and his wife busy packing groceries preparing to close the tuckshop.
“Kanengoni demanded cash from Munhungowarwa and his wife, but they both did not respond to him,” he said.
Insp Dhewa said Kanengoni then produced a pistol and ordered the deceased to get out of the tuckshop and then allegedly shot him in the chest.
