ZIMBABWE international Marvelous Nakamba was once again recognised for his impressive display at English second tier side Luton Town after another strong performance during his side’s 3-1 win over Blackpool on Monday earned him the Man of the Match award.

The Warriors midfielder played a crucial role as Luton Town recovered from falling behind in the 29th minute to register a win which keeps their promotion hopes alive.

After going behind, Luton Town produced an impressive fightback which began with a first half injury time equaliser by Pelly Mpanzu before second half strikes by Carlton Morris and Pelly Mpanzu ensured the hosts picked up maximum points.

Again in the thick of things was Nakamba who walked away with the man of the match accolade following yet another impressive showing.

Nakamba went close to what would have been a first and fortuitus Luton goal as his cross was missed by Town’s centre forward Cauley Woodrow but proved difficult for the Blackpool keeper, who quickly got across his goal to turn it behind.

With an 87 percent passing accuracy, he won six of the 11 ground duels he was involved in while making one interception and one tackle.

After the game Nakamba was handed the man of the match accolade together with the Player of the Month Award for March.

The 3-1 win thrust Luton Town just five points behind second placed Sheffield United.

Although Sheffield boast of two games in hand Luton still have a realistic chance of challenging for automatic promotion.

If Luton are unable to secure a top two finish which will guarantee them automatic promotion into the Premier League, there will be another opportunity of gaining promotion via play-offs which will feature sides that finish from third to sixth
