A group of men were drinking and having a good time when seven gunmen pounced on them and demanded to see the owner of the house, they became enraged when they were told he was not around.
The 15 men, were ordered to strip and as if that was not humiliating enough, they were then instructed to have tlof tlof with each other.
Fuel dealer burnt to death
According to Zimoja, the men refused and that’s when they were doused in petrol and burnt alive. Only five of the men survived and are fighting for their lives in hospital. The gruesome murder happened at a house at KwaMpande in Pietermaritzburg in KwaZulu Natal (KZN) on Sunday night.

According to a community member, it is alleged that when the seven suspects were told that the owner of the house was not home, they ordered the people inside the house to undress.
“The people refused because there is no one who would want to be humiliated like that in front of other men,” the resident said. SAPS spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda confirmed the incident.
“Police in Taylors Halt have launched a massive manhunt after eight people were burnt to death inside a house at Msunduzi Location in Taylors Halt, Pietermaritzburg on Sunday evening. It is reported that 15 men, whose ages range between 25 and 46 years old, were inside a house when seven suspects reportedly armed with rifles came and asked them about the whereabouts of the owner of the house. After realising that the owner was not there, the men reportedly instructed the occupants of the house to undress, before pouring liquid substances on them and setting them alight,” he said.
MANHUNT FOR THE SUSPECTS
Netshiunda said that eight men reportedly died at the scene while seven victims were rushed to hospital for medical attention with severe burn wounds. He confirmed that two more people succumbed to their injuries in hospital on Monday.
“The suspects are unknown at this stage and the motive of the killing is yet to be established, although drug-related issues could not be ruled out. Police pleaded with anyone who may have information regarding the whereabouts of the suspects to contact them,” he said.
