The woman murdered outside Wynberg Magistrate’s Court on 25 May faced a murder charge herself and was about to become a State witness when she was killed.
This was revealed in the first appearance of two men who allegedly sat in court during Christine Gumera’s case on the day of her murder, and phoned the third accused, the alleged shooter waiting outside, to tell them what she looked like.
Two shots were fired – one killed Gumera and the second hit a passing car, so they are also charged with attempted murder.
Their case has been postponed to 13 June.
