Retired American boxer Floyd Mayweather visited the State House in Harare this afternoon and met with President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
According to the statements made by Mayweather during an interview with journalists, the meeting primarily revolved around identifying avenues for him to contribute towards the betterment of the youth in Zimbabwe.
Floyd Mayweather’s Motherland Tour
On Thursday, Floyd Mayweather made his way to Harare, Zimbabwe, as part of his Motherland Tour, which includes a visit to South Africa as well.
During his two-day stay in Zimbabwe, Mayweather delighted hundreds of eager spectators who braved the cold to catch a glimpse of him in the township of Mabvuku.

Businessman Scott Sakupwanya, who grew up in Mabvuku, and his Better Brands company, are behind Mayweather’s visit to Africa.
Local players such as Arifonso Zvenyika, Fernando Tom, Monalisa Sibanda, and Cecilia Pitiseni had the honor of treating the esteemed athlete to some exhibition boxing.
This rare opportunity allowed the residents of Mabvuku to witness the iconic boxer’s open workout at their Number 1 grounds.
At the luxurious Meikles Hotel, Better Brands organized a lavish all-black dinner for Mayweather last night.
The event brought together distinguished guests, including the Zimbabwe National Boxing and Wrestling Control Board, as well as friends of the Scott Sakupwanya Foundation.
