Mistaken identity … a 78-year-old man faces murder for killing son under belief he was shooting at baboons
HARARE – A father has been arrested after mistakenly shooting his son dead while driving baboons off their fields.
Isaac Nyakurerwa, 78, of Headlands in Manicaland province has been charged with m_rder, national police spokesman Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said.
Nyathi said Nyakurerwa and his son, 46-year-old Innocent Nyakurerwa were chasing a troop of baboons off their fields at Fairfield farm when he accidentally shot him.
“Police have since arrested the father in connection with the m_rder,” Nyathi added.
