Zimdancehall artist Silent Killer finds himself in hot water again as he has been accused of failing to perform at a highly anticipated show in Ngezi. The incident occurred last Saturday at Ngezi Platinum, where the promoter claims that Silent Killer did not fulfill his contractual obligations.

According to WhatsApp messages reviewed by this publication, the owner of Vista Entertainment leveled serious accusations against Silent Killer, suggesting that he was too intoxicated to take the stage that night.

The promoter described the artist as looking disheveled, with dust covering his feet, which led to speculation that he had walked from Harare to Ngezi.

In a candid response about the situation, the unnamed promoter stated, “Hello. He failed to perform coz anenge anga akadhakwa bigtym. Coz shenha yaanga ayinayo ma1 munhu wachio takatoshaya kt aburuka mumota kana kt awuya netsoka.” This translates to an acknowledgment of Silent Killer’s inebriated state, implying that he arrived in no condition to perform.

The promoter further explained the aftermath of the situation, noting that they had initially left Silent Killer at a lodge, but things took a turn when the artist’s manager decided to leave with him, returning to Harare without providing any explanation for his actions. “Ndakamusiya kuLodge manager wake akatiza naye,” the promoter shared, suggesting a sense of frustration at the artist’s management for not handling the situation more professionally.

Despite the drama surrounding Silent Killer, the promoter confirmed that other musicians who were scheduled to perform did take the stage and entertained the crowd, ensuring that the event still went ahead as planned.

This isn’t the first time Silent Killer has faced allegations of failing to show up for gigs. Earlier this month, he was arrested on fraud charges linked to another incident where he was paid for a performance but did not show up.

In that case, Seh Wish Entertainment had engaged Silent Killer to headline the Mambodo Birthday Bash on June 22, 2024. The promoter stated that they had paid the artist a $250 advance out of a total fee of $500.

However, Silent Killer not only missed the event but also neglected to promote it on his social media platforms as had been agreed.

The promoter expressed their frustration, saying they had tried to contact Silent Killer to request a refund of the advance payment after his no-show, but were met with rudeness in response.

This recurring pattern of alleged unprofessionalism raises serious questions about Silent Killer’s reliability as an artist within the Zimdancehall scene
