Justice has found its course since the five Wedza women who assaulted a girl and posted the video on the social media circles have been convicted.
These visibly cruel five ladies who included four juveniles under the age of 18 and one aged 19 years were found guilty of all four counts of aggravated indecent assault, cyberbullying, unlawful detention and assault which they committed in Wedza on the 4th of July this year.
Two of them, a 19-year-old Vimbai Mike and a 17-year-old, who is married and has two children, were sentenced to an effective five years in jail each for indecent assault, one year for cyberbullying for posting her video on social media, one year for unlawful detention and another one year for assault which will, however, run concurrently within the 5-year effective term.
However, the other three juveniles were not sentenced on condition they will not commit a similar offence for the next five years. The juveniles were not sentenced since they are under age.
According to court papers, the five were accused of stripping a fellow villager and assaulting her for an unspecified offence until she passed out.
To make the matter worse, they recorded a video of their bad actions which they later posted on social media.
The video later went viral leading to a social media uproar and their arrest
