Zimbabwean controversial businessman Wicknell Chivhayo has won a tender to supply all election materials in Namibia in a US$60 million deal, according to sources in the Namibian government.
Chivhayo was also involved in another controversial election materials deal in Zimbabwe, which led to a fallout with his associates.
These associates, Mike Chimombe and Mose Mpofu, have since been jailed without bail on charges related to a corrupt scheme in which they looted millions intended for goats meant to be distributed to rural communities.
Namibia’s elections are on 27 November
