Harare, Zimbabwe – Students at Ivyluck College in Harare were left in shock after discovering they had been duped into taking counterfeit Zimsec O’ Level exams.
The alleged mastermind behind this scheme is their headmaster, Tafadzwa Chikohora (31), who appeared in court yesterday facing serious charges of theft and fraud.
Ivyluck College, which offers classes from Form 1 to Form 6, is not a registered Zimsec examination center.
According to the State, in May, the college received US$729 to register three students at Ellis Robins High School, a legitimate Zimsec center. However, Chikohora allegedly misappropriated these funds and failed to register the students as promised.
To cover up his actions, Chikohora is accused of sending falsified statements of entry to the students, making it appear as though they were registered for the exams. He then allegedly created counterfeit Zimsec examination papers and had the students take these fake exams at the Ellis Robins laboratory.
After the exams, he reportedly destroyed the counterfeit papers to hide the evidence.
The fraudulent scheme was uncovered when students began discussing the exam content, raising suspicions that eventually led to Chikohora’s arrest.
Investigators later found copies of the fake examination papers on his phone.
