A tragic road traffic accident occurred this morning at approximately 0930 hours at the 105-kilometre peg along the Harare-Masvingo Road in Featherstone. The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has confirmed that one person died on the spot, and 26 others sustained injuries when an Elsberry Bus collided with a ZUPCO bus.
The collision resulted in the ZUPCO bus overturning and landing on its side. Emergency services were promptly dispatched to the scene. The deceased’s body was transported to Chivhu General Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem examination, while the injured passengers were admitted to the same hospital for treatment.
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the accident. The ZRP has urged motorists to exercise caution and adhere to road safety regulations to prevent such tragic incidents.
