These are the two culprits from Cowdray Park, who murdered 23-year-old Inobubele Mhlanga, who was also from Cowdray Park. Their names are Thamsanqa Ndebele (26) and Euton Sebatha (36).
On the 04th of November 2024, at around 2030hrs, the now deceased was found by passersby lying in a pool of blood near TM turnoff bus stop, Cowdray Park, Bulawayo. She had a penetrative wound above the right breast and several cuts on both hands. The now deceased was ferried to Mpilo Hospital by a well-wisher. She passed on whilst she was still being attended to by a Doctor. The body was conveyed to Mpilo Hospital mortuary awaiting post mortem.
On the 5th of November 2024, at around 1130hrs Police rounded up all the known suspects of robbery and Playmore Mpofu a male adult aged 27 of cowdrypark who was held at the station as a suspect in a case of robbery admitted that he often committed robbery cases around Cowdray Park area with Thamsanqa Ndebele and Euton Sebatha. A follow up through the help of members of the public was done leading to the arrest of the duo in Cowdray Park area.
Thamsanqa Ndebele was interviewed and he admitted to having attacked the now deceased at TM turnoff, Cowdray Park, Bulawayo and stole her handbag containing cash amounting to US$30.00 with the help of his friend Euton Sebatha. He further stated that Euton Sebatha stabbed the now deceased because she had identified him since they reside in the same area and they knew each other. The flick knife that Euton used was recovered.
Police appreciates active participation of the community in aiding investigations. An innocent life was lost because of sheer greed from people who knew the deceased and being a neighbor. Members of the public are urged to revive the Neighborhood Watch Committees not only for the purposes of patrols but also as a way of fostering unity, peace and love among themselves. The arrest of the two may assist relatives to find closure.
