A senior manager with Old Mutual allegedly r@ped a 23 year-old intern twice without protection as he threatened to withdraw her scholarship.
Musa Nyasha Dube Manyika has since appeared before Harare Magistrates’ Court where he was granted free bail. The case is under CRB HRE 1529/24.
Musa is the manager for Business Development at Old Mutual while the alleged victim is a third-year UZ student. She started her undergraduate in 2022 under the Old Mutual Scholarship and while she was at the University of Zimbabwe sometime in November 2022, she was introduced to Manyika.
He was part of the Scholarship Committee and he later sent a message on a Sunday evening in November 2022 as he wanted her to assist him packing some banners at Old Mutual Gardens.
Allegations are that he went to pick her up from the university campus and went to his office where they packed the banners.
