Kudakwashe Tagwirei, a follower of the Seventh Day Adventist Church (SDA), has been accused of paying $245,000 to the Rainbow Tourism Group, causing popular artist Winky D to lose his New Year’s Eve concert venue at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC) .
A confidential source shared with ZimLive that the SDA usually holds its Crossover Service at Glamis Arena Stadium, but this year, Rainbow Tourism Group offered the HICC to Tagwirei’s Bridging Gaps Foundation .
The Rainbow Tourism Group allegedly canceled Winky D’s booking to accommodate Tagwirei’s more profitable deal . The Bridging Gaps Foundation paid $245,000 for the venue and 200 rooms for five days .
Tagwirei, who is a devout SDA member, declined to comment on the matter . The corporate communications manager of Rainbow Tourism Group, Pride Khumbula, didn’t respond to inquiries regarding the situation.
