Popular Chillspot producer, DJ Ribhe(real name Tafadzwa Mandaza) was this morning found not guilty of the rape charges he was facing by an Harare court.
Harare magistrate Clever Tsikwa, determined that they was no overwhelming evidence to prove that the Zimdancehall producer indeed raped the 14-year-old minor.
DJ Ribhe was spotted today outside the courts in an indeed joyful mood. The 32-year-old music promoter could be seen appreciating his lawyer for the great job he did in advocating for his acquittal.
The Mbare based producer and promoter has been facing incarceration after he was arrested in November last year for raping a fourteen year-old schoolgirl in his home.
The schoolgirl’s name, whose name is not revealed for her protection was alleged to have not returned home for several dayings resulting in a concerned search by his father.
The state alleged that she was later spotted at DJ Ribhe’s Glen Norah residence in the company of her friends. It was alleged that they later went on to Mashwede Village where they partied smoking Shisha. In the process the state further alleged that the DJ offered an unknown beverage to the girl for her to drink resulting in her getting drunk and unconscious. The claims went on further to claim that DJ Ribhe raped the minor whilst she was unconscious.
However DJ Ribhe denied all these allegations please pleading not guilty. He said that he did not at an instance engage in an sexual activity with these girl or offer an substance to her to drink.
