THE body of a missing gardener from Borrowdale was on Tuesday discovered at a farm in Chegutu.
Bob Karonga’s remains were found dumped near Itape Farm, where his sister, Loice Karonga, resides.
He was last seen on March 20 at his workplace in Borrowdale.
Bob was reported to have left his workplace with the intention of buying airtime nearby but never returned.
On Monday at around 4pm, Loice received a phone call from Bob Karonga’s employer that he had been contacted by an unknown person advising him that they were done with Bob, whom they had kidnapped, and that they wanted sperms from him.
An audio was recorded by a male voice and sent to the employer.
Nude pictures of deceased lying on the bed visibly in an unconscious state were also sent from deceased’s phone and it is suspected to have been the work of the abductors.
They were further told that the kidnappers were going to dump him in Gweru.
On Tuesday at around 5am at Plot 4 Itape farm, Chegutu, Loice discovered Bob’s body lying about 40 metres from her house.
“We are in a shock,” said one of the relatives.
“There were no struggle marks at the scene where the body was discovered lying facing downwards.
“The body was inspected, and no injuries were noted.
“The now deceased had been relieving himself as some watery stool was at the scene.
“The body was taken to Chegutu District Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem,” said the relative.
