Six Siblings namely, Farisai Gunyangu (75), Francis Gunyangu (50), Ephraim Gunyangu (43), Wilson Gunyangu (47), Patrick Gunyangu (38), and Moses Gunyangu (52) from Gunyangu Village under Chief Chikwanda in Masvingo were arrested for beating their brothers’ wife whom they accused of cheating.

The six siblings were brought to court and appeared before Magistrate Conceptor Ngwerume facing charges of assault.

According to a local publication The Mirror on Friday, 31 July 2020, at around 7 am, the six siblings arranged and went to Muvavi’s place armed with thorny whips prepared to take her off. They ordered Fungai Muvavi (39) the brothers’ wife to pack and leave because without proof they suspected her of cheating on their brother.

The siblings are reported to have beaten Fungai Muvavi whom they thought was having extramarital affairs within the neighborhood.

After being asked to pack and leave, Fungai refused and the siblings turned violent and assaulted her. She was said to have been left in a bad state, swollen and bleeding. She was then taken to Masvingo Provincial hospital by her neighbors and a medical report was made.

Shockingly the six were remanded out of custody and will appear in court on Nov 3, 2020
