In a shocking incident that has left the community in mourning, a 17-year-old Form 3 boy, Sindiso Hlazo, was allegedly killed outside a bar in the Torwood suburb of Redcliff town.
The tragic event occurred in the early hours of Saturday, leaving both family and friends devastated and searching for answers.
Last Moments Before the Tragedy
According to Midlands provincial police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko, the sequence of events leading up to the murder remains unclear.
It is reported that on Friday around 11 AM, Hlazo left his home in Kwekwe to head to Plot 20 Swartlage farm in Redcliff, sent there by his brother for yet-to-be-established reasons.
A Fatal Night at the Club
The following day, at around 1 AM, Hlazo was spotted at Chilax Nightclub in Torwood Shopping Centre, Redcliff.

He was seen drinking beer in the company of several unidentified men.
Tragically, at around 2:30 AM, a bar attendant discovered the lifeless body of a male juvenile lying outside the nightclub. It was later revealed to be the same boy she had observed earlier in the night.
Upon further examination of the crime scene, police observed bleeding from Hlazo’s right ear.
As of now, no arrests have been made, and the police are urging members of the public with any information related to the case to come forward and assist in bringing the culprits to justice.
Inspector Mahoko made an appeal to the public, stating,
“We are appealing to members of the public who might have information concerning this case to approach their nearest police station so that the culprits involved may be brought to book.”
